A Brenniston National Standard Mobile & Tradie Workplace First Aid Kit is built for the hard knocks and hazards of building sites and working on the go.
This kit is designed to comply with the Australian First Aid in the Workplace National Code of Practice, to help you efficiently treat frequent first aid incidents in heavy duty workplaces.
Its contents are regulated by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration, and it’s registered under our Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods licence number 145972, just like every other Brenniston National Standard Workplace First Aid Kit.
Is it a legal requirement to have a first aid kit in the workplace?
In Australia, every workplace must have a fully compliant first aid kit appropriate for the anticipated dangers and hazards in that environment. Depending on the size and scope of a workplace, several kits may be required.
Workplaces include factories, warehouses, workshops, retail stores, and offices, to name a few. Building sites and vehicles such as cars, trucks, buses, hire cars, delivery vans and company fleets are also defined as workplaces.
Taking control of health and safety risks in a business or organisation is part of workplace safety. The health and safety of workers, customers, visitors, contractors and volunteers all need to be taken into account.
What should be included in a Mobile & Tradie first aid kit?
Bandages, adhesive dressings, antiseptic and gauze swabs are some of the most commonly used first aid items that should be included in every workplace first aid kit.
Other essentials include gloves, sterile eye pads, burn hydrogel and multi-purpose triangular bandages. It’s vital to get a well-designed, high-quality first aid kit that meets Australian workplace regulations.
If a government safety inspector comes to your workplace and discovers that your first aid kits aren’t stocked with the necessary supplies within the correct expiration dates, you could be in serious trouble.
Non-compliance can result in hefty fines and perhaps prison time.
Brenniston National Standard Mobile & Tradie First Aid Kit
A Brenniston National Standard Mobile & Tradie First Aid Kit comes in a heavy duty carry bag, easy to grab-and-go from construction site to car seat in an emergency.
There are three transparent compartments so you can instantly see what you need when the pressure’s on.
Inside you’ll find all sorts of first aid applications for the everyday hazards of your trade.
Every item is there to help you in an emergency until first responders or medical assistance arrives.
In the top section are padded and low-adherent dressings that won’t stick to messy wounds.
A thermal blanket will keep your workmate warm if they go into shock before help arrives. There’s a bag to keep amputated parts clean and safe, and a notebook and pencil to jot down any details you might need later.
Multi-purpose triangular bandages are in here too, and right at the front are emergency phone numbers and instructions to guide you through the most common first aid situations. Make sure you read that before you really need it!
In the middle section are sterile wound dressings for heavy bleeding, to absorb and help slow down the flow of blood.
You’ll also find eye wash, an ice pack, conforming and crepe bandages, and disposable nitrile gloves to protect you and stop cross-infection.
Plus super-tough fabric strips for those nasty cuts and grazes , which are the unavoidable hazards of your trade.
Down the bottom is antiseptic spray, with tea tree oil to disinfect and soothe a wound. Great when you’re on site without access to running water.
Burn gel, hypoallergenic paper tape, good quality safety pins and a disposable resuscitation face shield in case you need to give CPR.
Also cleansing antiseptic wipes, stainless steel scissors and forceps, and disposable splinter probes.
These splinter probes are brilliant for tradies working with timber, glass, and steel.
The contents list helps you easily check and replace used or expired items.
